Dr. Douglas L. Geenens is a highly trained mental health professional with over 28 years of experience. Dr. Geenens received his psychiatric training at the famed Menninger Clinic and Harvard Medical School. Throughout his professional training, he has received many awards, including the Seeley Fellowship and the National Laughlin Award.

 

During his professional career, Dr. Geenens has treated thousands of patients in psychotherapy and medication management.  He has won numerous awards for his research, teaching, and patient care.  Currently, his physician ratings place him as one of the top psychiatrists in the nation.

Ms. Marissa Lahey is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with honors in 2001 from the University of Virginia and has a wide variety of experience in the field including home health care, women's health, hospice, and medical-surgical nursing.

 

She aims to provide individualized, holistic and evidence-based mental health care and offers both psychotherapy and medication management.

Dr. Victoria Haynes is a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner who received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She has dual certification in psychiatric mental health as well as family practice across the lifespan. She brings with her several years of advance practice nursing experience caring for diverse populations in geriatrics, adolescent health, home health, urgent care, internal medicine, occupational medicine, and school-based health settings. She is a Kansas City native and enjoys reading, traveling, and fitness.

She is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal mental wellness by providing holistic care that includes psychotherapy along with medication management.

Hannah Colvin, M.S. is a Child Behavior Specialist who specializes in effective responses to difficult childhood behaviors for children 2-12 years old, as well as early childhood tutoring for children 3-5 years old. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Baker University in Education (PreK-12) and Spanish, with a minor in psychology; Summa Cum Laude.  She received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kansas State University.

 

Hannah is the recipient of numerous awards for her teaching and work with children, including the Teacher of Promise Award upon entering the teaching profession.  We are very excited to welcome her to Geenens Psychiatry!

Geenens Psychiatry is very proud to introduce to our patients and colleagues, Ms. Jean Hosseini.  She comes to us with a very accomplished professional background in healthcare, business, and information technology. 

 

Ms. Hosseini has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Technology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Webster University.  Ms. Hosseini comes to us with extensive knowledge in operations management, strategic planning, patient advocacy, and revenue cycle analysis.  She is a multifaceted problem solver and  a strong advocate for the well-being of our patients.  We are very honored to have her on our team!

Arthur Clifford is our Administrative Assistant. He holds a degree from the University of Central Missouri with a BSE in Speech, Communication, and Theatre. Arthur is an avid stage actor, singer, and music director and since graduating in 2018 has performed professionally all around the Kansas City area.

 

He has an immense passion for helping others in any capacity, whether it be in the classroom, on the stage, or in the medical field! We are very honored to have him on our team!

Daniel Albert is our Patient Services Representative. He is an alumni of the University of Central Missouri with a BSE in English & Philosophy. Daniel is an advocate of mental health and disabilities and aspires to use his own experiences to help others. He is also an avid writer and reader with a love for learning and empathy.

 

With the intention of being consistent and effective in whatever field he’s in, Daniel wants to make a difference for others. We are very honored to have him on our team!
